Playing Catch Up

I haven't blogged in a long time and have lots to catch up on as we've been very busy lately. In the middle of May, we got to take a look at our very active little baby. I've been feeling for a long time that this one is a squirmer. When we had our ultrasound done, the tech was surprised by how active he/she is. My midwives have been saying that too. Boy, if this one is more active than Allie has been, I'm in for big trouble! Baby looks good and is growing appropriately.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Allie had her pictures done at Sears and she was chosen as the cutest kid in her age group that month, so she's on display at the studio. They weren't her best shots either, she was too in to all the props they had around the room that she hardly stood still enough to get a single picture. But, they still turned out cute enough. Yes, I'm a proud mommy. (Sorry you can't see for yourself. I can't post them here).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Memorial Day weekend, we flew out to Phoenix to visit Mom & Dad F. Steve, Cassie, and the boys were there too so we got to spend some time with them also. We got to meet baby Luke for the first time. He's just as cute as the others boys.

We had a great time. We went swimming a few times, went to the zoo, and just hung out and relaxed. Allie had such a great time swimming and playing with her grandma, papa, and all her cousins. We often don't get to see our oldest niece much when we're there but since she was out of school, we were able to spend a lot of time with her. JP also had a lot of time off work, which is rare, so we were able to see the whole family a lot more than we normally do on a short visit.

Allie had her first K.rispy K.reme donut while we were there. Tim asked her if she liked it and as she savored every bite, she said, "I like donut, WOW!" She also had her first brain-freeze. She was sipping on a slushie when she said, "ahhhh, too much!" We looked back and she was holding her hands up to her forehead. She had some other great sayings on that trip but those are for another time as this post is ridiculously long.

Like Daddy, like daughter? Look at those faces!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This past weekend, we went down to SM for my cousin's wedding. It was a really short trip so we didn't get much in, but we were able to take Allie to the beach for a few minutes. She loved it! She loved running away from the waves (tide was strong and water cold). She wanted to do it over and over. When we told her it was time to go she said, "No, I stay at beach".
The wedding was outside at a beautiful country club. In typical Central Coast fashion, it was foggy and windy so it was quite cold out. But, it was beautiful. We then had appetizers out in a courtyard and then came in for a full sit-down dinner. But, like an idiot I left my camera in our car and rode with someone else to the wedding. Oops, no pics.

Half Way

Today I'm 20 weeks pregnant. Yippee! About half way there. We aren't finding out the sex of this baby but will have an ultrasound next week to see how our little person is growing. We're very thankful for another chance at growing our family. I'm excited that Allie will get to experience the fun of having a sibling.

2 Year Stats

Allie's 2 year stats...

Height 35 1/2 inches (89%)

Weight 26 lbs 1 oz (42%--she's actually up here over her normal. I'm just not sure how since the kid hardly eats anything!)

Head 46.5 cm (24%--small head, but plenty of brains!)

She was of course, not happy with the shots that she got and screamed when the nurse tried to put a bandaid on the spots. Tim asked her if the doctor was nice and she said, "No!". On the way there she said, "no doctor". Poor kid, now she'll really hate to go. Good thing she doesn't have to go again for another year, for regular visits. :)

Swim Suit

Allie has no shame when it comes to her modesty. She strips down in the middle of the store if the mood strikes her. If I let her, she'd even go as far as stripping off her diaper in public.

But, for some reason, her new bathing suit bothered her. When I put it on her for the first time, she said, "I fall out! I fall out!" as she tried her best to pull the top down over her belly button. Silly kid!

Please excuse the hair. Here she is in her new bathing suit. I guess she felt like a model, because she sure was posing!

Happy Easter

Easter is a great holiday! It's the day we remember what Christ did for us on the Cross and how He rose again so we could be cleansed of our sins. We had a great service in the morning and then went to Cherith & Erech's for lunch and an Easter Egg hunt. Allie had a blast! She was filthy when we got home, but happy.
